FABRICATION

OCi's fabrication facility is located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah. It is strategically positioned near the center of the western United States in order to service our clients needs and provide high quality products more cost-effectively. Our facility is qualified to meet all industry standards whether domestic or international.

The fabrication team works closely with the engineering group in order to create an atmosphere void of misunderstandings or miscalculations. That  coordination of effort helps prevent errors and reinforces our commitment to quality assurance.

SERVICE AND REPAIR:

OCi qualifies in all electrical and mechanical crane repair & maintenance. Our services include everything from brake, wheel and electrical service to complete rebuilding and changeovers. Our service personnel have extensive experience in all phases of overhead crane services including the following:

  • Crane and hoist replacement parts
  • 24-hour emergency service

OCi, utilizing our own personnel, provides all phases of overhead crane repair and installation of new and used equipment. Our experienced technicians are qualified in all areas of crane system components. Preventative maintenance and periodic inspections have proven to be effective in reducing down time and expensive emergency maintenance.

OCi can supply replacement parts and repair services for all capacities and classes of overhead cranes, workstations, controls, hoists, lifting attachments, etc.

SAFETY INSPECTIONS/LOAD TESTING:

OSHA requires the periodic inspection of overhead cranes. OCi offers a qualified inspection and preventative maintenance program, which conforms to the required standards … whether electrical … mechanical … or preventative service, we are there to keep you on track.

OSHA crane regulations require the following:

  • Complete inspection of overhead cranes at intervals of at least every 12 months, and as often as every month depending upon the activity, severity of service, and environment. OSHA 1910.179(j)(3)

  • Inspection and load test prior to initial use of all new and altered cranes to ensure compliance of all function of hoisting and lowering, trolley travel, bridge travel, limit switches, locking and safety devices. OSHA 1910.179(j)(k)

  • Inspection of cranes not in regular use. A crane which has been idle for a period of 1 month or more, but less than 6 months, shall be given an inspection conforming with requirements of OSHA 1910.179(j)(m)(2). A crane which has been idle for a period over 6 months shall be given an inspection conforming with requirements of OSHA 1910.179(j)(m)(2)(3)

  • Monthly hook inspection with certification record which includes the date of inspection, the signature of the person who performed the inspection, and the serial or ID number of the chain inspected. OSHA 1910.179(2)(iv)

  • Monthly wire rope inspection with a certification record which includes the date of inspection, the signature of the person who performed the inspection, and the serial or ID number of the rope inspected. OSHA 1910.179(m)

  • A preventive maintenance program based on the crane manufacturer's recommendations shall be established. OSHA 1910.179(l)(1)
